1st Character: Lugule DeLure, Pathfinder 2e 



Hello everyone, I created this blog for the Character Creation Challenge, 2026 edition! Last year, I did everything on Bluesky, but the limited post size and number of images was a bit too limiting. I don't know that I'll write a lot, but it's nice to have the option if the game gave me some thoughts I'd like to share. Anyway, last year I did 31 different characters in 31 different systems, so I decided to do something else for 2026. I already made a tentative schedule, but I may end up not sticking to it, especially if I stumble on a game during the month. So, not only do I not worry about repeating game, I even plan to create some character in multiple systems, just to see how different the result is system by system. With that said, let's move on to the first character!

So, a little bit of cheating to open up the year! Lugule here is not in fact a new character, she was my PC for a online Pathfinder Beginner Box organized by the nice people at the Pathfinder 2e Community Discord in 2024 (Or was it 2023? Time is an illusion.) and I just love her to death! So, for the first day, this is more or less the version I played in that adventure, she was quite clutch in a specific fight and her humble thieving skill did manage to overcome a trap that was proving itself quite deadly! Funnily enough, we had a Rogue in the party, but he was much more a combat rogue than the classical thief, so the role of trap disposal fell to her. 

Anyway, poking around Backgrounds and infos on Archive of Nethys, I created a small backstory for her that involve living in a small town where the boundary with the elemental plane of fire was weak, she was birthed during a raging inferno that died out with her first cry, just before her skin started to glow and illuminate as if containing a liquid fire visible through translucent, glasslike skin. From then on, she grew up, becoming less and less human in appearance, but using her connection with fire to become a Fire Warden, a fantasy firefighter. Then some fire wizard with a fire otter familiar came into town, started a rash of fire, Lugule ended up joining a cult of the good forgotten fire deity Atreia. She managed to fight off the wizard, but the town blamed her for the fires with a rumors that she started them to get credit for extinguishing them. Naturally, she decided to fuck off that town of ingrate and remembered her pen pal Wrin Sivinxi from Otari, a NPC from Abomination Vaults. Once in Otari, Wrin introduced her to some other adventurer and the rest is history!

 




 Pathbuilder is a huge help with organizing Pathfinder 2e character sheets, but it seems the output sheet doesn't work great with the Kineticist and its many action! Here's a copy of her in Pathbuilder if you want to see more details and a tentative planned build.

  So, why did I choose to share an older character instead of a new one? Well, first of all, it's the 1st of January, I'm probably not home and with a hangover! But really, it's to set up an idea I had for Lugule! See, she has a pretty strong flavor that would be hard to replicate in other systems, so why not try to do exactly that! Over the next few days, I will be attempting to build a version of Lugule in various other game system, so I wanted to share the initial version to establish the baseline.

 4th Character: Gumei, Vagabond 4th day and finally a new character! This time, I chose the game Vagabond by Land of the Blind, a fairly recent OSR-ish game that I managed to pick up right before Christmas! I say OSR-ish, because it says the game is fairly compatible with old school adventure and there is an emphasis on Dungeon Crawling and the like, but it does thing in a pretty unique fashion with only the players rolling dice, using clocks and allowing some character building with a Perk system, for those like me who do prefer the character creation aspect from starting with D&D 3e. The character is Gumei the alchemist, I was planning on starting her off with Pathfinder 2e, but I decided to showcase another system to start with instead! I'm also planning of creating her in a few different system, but I'm undecided if I'll do all of her in a row or if I'd rather sprinkle her various version over the month. I guess we'll see how I feel tomorrow! Good old 1 page...

  2nd Character: Lugule DeLure, FIGHT! 2e    Second day of the year, second character! Or rather, second version of the first character! As mentioned previously, I'm starting the challenge by providing different version of the same character, Lugule DeLure, the Naari Pyrokineticist. Naari are the Pathfinder 2e Remaster of the Ifrit, the Pathfinder-brand version of the Fire Genasi. For those unfamiliar, Genasi are mortal in D&D that are descended or otherwise touched in some profound way by the Elemental Planes or the creature dwelling there. Most commonly, they are descended from Genie, but it doesn't have to be the case, as shown by Lugule. Back to the point, I decided to pull out my FIGHT! second edition handbook for this version of Lugule! I'm working with the assumption that we're doing some sort of Pathfinder fighting game, so I kept that in mind while assigning quality and such.
